Beware of Colourful Names for Sports Trading!

Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 12:00 AM

Beware of glossy brochures in the mail or companies that cold call you to promote these colourful "invented" names for sports arbitrage trading.

Divisable Revenue trading, Secured Index Services, Everyday trading, Profits from Difference Trading or PFD trading, Reverse Leveraging trading, Indexed trading, Perpetual Trading, Offset Trading, Sports Index Margins or SIMS, Universal Trading, Advanced Sport Trading, Data Stream Trading.

Why the colourful names? Very simple when they cold call you and tell you how lucky you are that you can invest your money with them your next move after you hang up will probably be a Google search. By "inventing" a new name it doesn't come up in the search so it makes it hard for you to  end up at sites that will tell you the truth about the PONZI schemes/scams.

Bottom line is CAVEAT EMPTOR-BUYER BEWARE!!

If you have been approached or invested money with any company that promotes the above you should report it to the following entities.

QLD Police

ASIC
